Getting Your Home Ready for the Heat

We've already been having some gorgeous weather this year. Which means it might be a good idea to start thinking of what you can do to get your home ready for the heat. I'm never organised for this but am determined that will change this year.

Breathable bedding
Temperatures are set to rise as the cool evenings of spring are on the way out. You may want to think about swapping your cosy winter duvet/bedding for a thin summer ones instead.  On really hot nights a flat sheet rather than a duvet may be a better option. Just make sure you opt for breathable fabrics such as cotton.

Light colours
Swapping for lighter colours such as neutral and pastel accessories around the home will help to keep temperatures down along with giving a summer fresh feel.

Summer scents
When I think of summer I think of tropical, coconut and  sweet floral scents. These are the scents I look for in candles, wax melts, room sprays and diffusers.

Keeping cool
It can get really uncomfortably hot inside during the summer months so it's worth getting some accessories in that are going to help. An electric fan is a must for us we have a standing one but desk top ones are a good option as well. Other items you may want to get in include cooling mattress/pillow pad, ice towel, ice cube trays and even a paddling pool if you have the space.
